DESCRIPTION:CRAM is music collective &amp\; independent record label\, form
 ed in 2009. It is dedicated to the support\, production\, promotion and de
 velopment of improvised and new music. It was founded by Benedict Taylor a
 nd is curated by Benedict Taylor\, Tom Jackson &amp\; Daniel Thompson. It 
 is made up of a fluid group of musicians/artists\, at the forefront of the
  London improvising &amp\; new music community\, alongside key figures in 
 music throughout many countries in Europe\, Asia &amp\; North America. The
  group have\, over the course of 9 years\, programmed numerous concert ser
 ies\, tours &amp\; international residencies\, BBC Radio broadcasts\, an o
 ngoing three day festival of improvisation and many album releases. They a

 her and curator based in London who is currently involved in creating audi
 ovisual performances\, sound works\, instalations and film.\n\nHer researc
 h and practice encompass sound art\, free-improvisation\, moving image\, l
 ive events\, electronic music and performance.\n\nIn 2014 she joined Event
  and Experience Design department at University of Kent.\nFrom 2011-2014 s
 he was visiting research fellow at Chelsea College of Arts &amp\; Design a
 t University of the Arts London.\nIn 2010\, she received a doctorate in Hu
 manities from University Rey Juan Carlos\, Madrid\, with the thesis: The V
 J and audiovisual performance: towards a radical aesthetic of postmodernis
 m.\n\nIn London\, she co-funded with Steve Beresford and later Jack Goldst
 ein 'Strange Umbrellas'\, a platform for free improvised music and visual 
 art. During 2012-2014 she curated performances at Music Hackspace. She is 
 initial co-founder of the Live Cinema Foundation.\n\nIn 2011 with Matthias
  Kispert at Soundfjord she founded the Material Studies Group. Focusing at
  developing a series of workshops and performances open to everyone lookin
 g at the production of sound with everyday objects.\n\nShe has performed w
 ith various artists\, including Terry Day\, Leafcutter John\, Beresford an
 d Matthias Kispert and curated a number of events and installations in Lon
 don and internationally. Her last exhibition: ‘Expanded and Ephemera Aud
 iovisual’ was presented at MUPO\, Oaxaca\, México in November 2015\n\nC
 urrent works in development include the direction of Unpredictable a film 
 about Terry Day and 'Unpredictable series' a series of exhibitions\, talks

 nedict Taylor is a solo violist &amp\; composer. He is an active figure wi
 thin the area of contemporary string performance\, at the forefront of the

 tivals including: Cafe Oto\, Jazz en Nord France\, Royal Court Theatre\, T

  of higher education institutions\, giving lectures in performance\, impro
