SUMMARY:Feel the Noise at Goldsmiths\, London
DESCRIPTION:‘Feel the Noise’ is a spatial and immersive composition by
Sharon Gal for a large ensemble of electric guitars\n‘Feel the Noise’
is a living and evolving sound sculpture\, introducing an inclusive and eg
alitarian approach to composition and performance through collaborative mu
sic-making. The guitars are played through hand-held mini amplifiers\, usi
ng a technique that produces low-volume feedback and continuous notes. The
players move very slowly\, affecting the ambience\, projecting their soun
d and combining it with others\, working together to shape and sculpt the
sonic material. The piece highlights the relationship between sound and sp
ace by exploring and responding to the specific characteristics of the per
formance environment\, architecture and acoustics. 'Feel the Noise' offers
artistic engagement\, play\, and creative exchange as a means to learning
and bringing together\, presenting a democratic space and collective owne
rship.\n\nThe performers/player are invited via an Open Call with the inte
ntion to include a diverse range of participants from across the universit
y and beyond. The piece will bring together people with different levels o
f playing and performance experience.\n\n'Feel the Noise' will premiere on
  Saturday\, 28th of April at Goldsmith's Large Hall\, with a live public p
erformance at 7pm. Admission is free. Donations welcome.\n\nIf you would l
