Sonica.FM presents an evening of performances:
– Quartet by Blanca Regina, Sharon Gal, Iris Garrelfs and Nathan Jones | 7.30 until 8.10pm
– Gwaith Swn #1,#2,#3,#4 | 8.20 until 10.00
Doors Open: 7pm £5 entry.
Quartet featuring Blanca Regina, Sharon Gal, Iris Garrelfs and Nathan Jones. Voice, electronics and live visuals (30-40 min.)
1st part – Nathan Jones will read his poems and the rest will improvise.Visuals by kinetic sculptures by Blanca Regina
2nd part – The quartet will play with some scores by Blanca Regina selecting them randomly and play with them. Live visuals by Blanca Regina
3rd part – Free improvisation by Sharon, Iris, Blanca. Visuals by Nathan Jones.
BLANCA REGINA is an artist, educator and curator who focuses on live performance, music and moving image. She works in free improvisation, solo and collectively. She has worked with Matthias Kispert, Steve Beresford, Terry Day, John White, Leafcutter John & Sharon Gal among others http://
SHARON GAL is an experimental vocalist, performer, composer and cross-disciplinary artist.
With particular interest in free improvisation and participatory/
she works electro-acoustically, using field recordings, electronics, and various musical instruments.
She performs solo, and collaborates with other musicians, including; David Toop, Steve Beresford,
Phil Minton, Steve Noble, Alex Ward, Andie Brown and Lina Lapelyte among others. http://www.sharon-gal.com/
IRIS GARRELFS works across fixed media, installation and improvised performance, often using her voice as raw material. Her work has been compared to artists such as Yoko Ono, Henri Chopin, Joan La Barbara, Meredith Monk and Arvo Part. Pieces and performances have featured in exhibitions, festivals and as part of residencies internationally, most recently at Tate Britain.

NATHAN JONES is a poet, artist and curator, and Reid-funded PhD candidate in English and Media at Royal Holloway. Nathan co-produces the language, brain, technology project Torque with Sam Skinner, and directs Liverpool-based art organisation Mercy. He works with language as/and media, and often employs the concept of the ‘glitch poetic’ as part of his performance and visual text works.
