Narrating Structures’ is an intensive workshop led by Dr. Blanca Regina where we introduce projection mapping and immersive space design We will look at the art of projection history and diverse techniques for the production of audiovisual projects in architectural spaces and objects and also their application in artistic and creative practice. The workshop is supported by MadMapper www.madmapper.com

Dates: 4 and 11 of May 2021, from 10 am to 4 pm

PROGRAMME 

The content of the workshop is as follows 1- Introduction to the mentor and presentation of their work in this field. 2- Study of multiple video mapping projects. 3- Learning multiple techniques and applying them using the different spaces and structures. 4-  Introduction to Madmappeer 4, Projection mapping on different surfaces. 5- Presentation on methods and tips for visual content production. 6 – Midi/OSC routing  8 – Syphon 9- Interactivity  10- Creation and presentation of a specific group project.

At the end of this workshop, you will be able to: – Create various projections simultaneously – Shape light into objects and spaces – Project management and networking

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Bring your own computer. This workshop is oriented to Mac and PC users. A mac laptop with osx 10.7 is recommended. 10.6 is not supported. You can bring also If you have, midi controller, projector, model/shape you want to map on, DMX controller (Artnet, Enttec or minimad)

BIO

Dr. Blanca Regina is an artist, curator, and tutor based in London who is currently involved in creating audiovisual performances, sound works, multimedia installations, photography, and book arts. She has been leading audiovisual performance art and projection mapping workshops plus curated events internationally; Unpredictable Series in the U.K, Mademotion in Spain and LED in Mexico. In 2014, she joined the School of Music & Fine Art at the University of Kent. For several years after receiving her Ph.D. in Humanities in Madrid, Spain she was a research fellow at Chelsea College of Art and Design, London (2011-14) Expanded and Ephemera Audiovisuals was her first solo exhibition presented in México, 2015. She is interested in the themes of language, identity, and archive, she is exploring the interplay of image and sound, digital and analog media. She has created some films and music with artists, including David Toop, Leafcutter John, Steve Beresford, Sharon Gal, Mandhira de Saram, Adriana Camacho, and Matthias Kispert. Her work has been supported by Arts Council England, Sound & Music, BMC, Amexcid, Photo-España, and Garage Cube. The last research includes the Immersive Pipeline Project funded by AHRC Computing Department at Goldsmiths University London with Prof. Atau Tanaka. Recent music works include ‘Duets with Blanca Regina, Spontaneous Music’ released on Unpredictable Series. Blanca is currently convenor of Immersive Space Design at the Centre for Music and Audio Technology, University of Kent. www.whiteemotion.com
